Arnold Cognet was trained at the School of Glass in Moulins, in France and has obtained his diploma of glassmaster in 1989.
He quickly joined the Biot glassware company, near Nice and Antibes, in the Alpes Maritimes in the south of France to complete his training by learning the technics of bubble glass.
The characteristic of the technique of bubble glass not only lies in its specificity (different from that of the crystal), but also in the fact that the glass learns to handle the glass to its inert form as a raw material to the preparation a finished product such as a lamp, a glass table or other object.
Arnold works in Biot glassware for nearly fifteen years, where he developed his earliest creations and demonstrating its capacity for innovation and mastery of technique. In 2005, he decided to resume Glassware Art Montauroux, located near Fayence, one of the last artisanal glassworks Var. He rearranges and creates a space shop / showroom to exhibit more than 300 pieces of 150m2 there.
The choice is wide, from simple water glass to Galle style lamps, glass bubble in cut crystal, with personalized engraving.
So Arnold continues millennia gestures, in addition, an artistic soul. He does not merely “make glass”, he is constantly inventing new forms and crosses many technical challenges before: color overlays and materials with the molten glass, inlaid with gold leaf… It performs also customized engravings on crystal.
